Black Sheep Foundation Makes History by Honouring Teachers This Christmas

In a season often filled with gifts for children and families, the Black Sheep Foundation, led by its CEO Dela Seade, chose to shine the spotlight on a group whose sacrifices often go unnoticed, teachers.

This Christmas, the Foundation successfully executed its maiden Gift a Teacher Initiative, impacting 255 teachers across 15 public schools in Accra, making history by intentionally recognising and celebrating educators for their dedication to nation-building.

A Thoughtful Gesture That Touched Hearts

The initiative focused on schools within the Ledzekoukou North Circuit, covering all schools in that cluster, as well as Sakumono Village Basic School and Sakumono Complex. Each teacher received a carefully curated Christmas hamper a gesture designed not just to give, but to say “we see you, we value you, and we appreciate you.”

What made the initiative even more remarkable was the spirit behind it. The project was largely powered by individual sponsors who simply believed in the idea, proving that compassion and community can move mountains when people come together for a good cause.

Support That Made the Vision Possible

The Black Sheep Foundation received invaluable support from both individuals and brands who aligned with the vision of honouring teachers.

Key supporters included:

  • Nescafé Ghana
  • Kivo Ghana ltd.
  • Amigo Cakes from JS Bakery
  • Boxit Africa
  • Bliss and Crumbs, who provided pastries for volunteers
  • Kwadwo Sheldon Studios, the official media partner for the initiative

Adding to the excitement was a surprise visit by beloved media personality Nana Ama McBrown, whose presence brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments to the teachers and volunteers alike.

Voices from the Beneficiaries

The emotional impact of the initiative was evident in the reactions from headmistresses and teachers of the beneficiary schools:

“God richly bless you and all the team members. The biggest surprise this year. Thank you oooo, thank you so much. Please thank all of them for us”

Another shared

“This is so massive. We are super happy. The excitement on our faces can last us for long”

These heartfelt responses captured the essence of the project. gratitude, joy, and genuine appreciation.

More Than a Christmas Gesture

According to Dela Seade, the Gift a Teacher Initiative was never meant to be a one-off act of charity.

“Teachers shape every profession. If we truly care about the future, then we must care about the people educating that future. This initiative is our way of saying thank you and it’s only the beginning.”

The Foundation has announced plans to make the initiative an annual project, expanding its reach and introducing additional support programs for teachers in the years ahead.

A New Standard for Community Impact

Through vision, collaboration, and selfless giving, the Black Sheep Foundation has set a new standard for how communities can and should  honour educators  not just with words, but with intentional action.

This Christmas, teachers were remembered.

And that, in itself, is history made.
